GROUNDLABS SOFTWARE STANDARD & ENTERPRISE EDITIONS

CARD RECON

Card Recon is a scanning tool that looks for cardholder data (forgotten or otherwise) on computers that contain such vulnerable information. Once scanned by the Software that cardholder data is either moved elsewhere or deleted permanently, as dictated by you.

Developed exclusively for PCI DSS compliance, Card Recon is an industry leading cardholder data discovery tool that is trusted by more than 300 PCI QSAs globally. Card Recon accurately identifies insecured PANs issued by all major card brands, including track 1 and track 2 data. It's use enables the company's security personnel to find and secure any non-compliant card data in a fraction of the time it would normally take by manually searching all Systems for it.

Card Recon has 2 editions, Standard and Advanced, and they have differences and should be considered separately to match your stated Security Policy needs. As with all product versions the differences are tabulated in Armana's product overview document that can be downloaded from this web page by clicking the image shown.

ENTERPRISE RECON

Enterprise Recon is the complete solution for the identification, remediation and monitoring of sensitive personal data across an entire enterprise network. Use Enterprise Recon to significantly reduce the risk of data breaches by isolating valuable customer, employee and payment information that the Cyber Thieves and Hackers are after; and simplify that process with Enterprise Recon. Once scanned, data can be either moved elsewhere to a secured location or deleted permanently, as dictated by your security policy.

DATA RECON

Data Recon is a scanning tool that looks for files (forgotten or otherwise) on computers that contain potentially sensitive information i.e. credit card numbers. Once scanned by this software that data is either moved elsewhere or the files deleted permanently, as dictated by you.

READ ON ......
Data Recon can search through text files, multiple encoding types, office documents, compressed (zip) files, local database files, emails stored in client software such as Outlook, and a few other formats. Should your Security Policy require you to scan webmail or email servers the Advanced Edition is required. Once sensitive data is found, Data Recon allows you to mask data constituents such as credit card numbers, quarantine the file in a secure location, or permanently delete files. The remediation features are the same for both editions.

GroundLab's customer support lists links for a 32-bit or 64-bit version of the products, and you can decide whether you want to work command line or with a graphical user interface. The entire software is a single executable .. nothing to unpack or install .. and all the licenses associated with your account are listed in one place. It is great how lightweight the whole product is.

Data Recon, when you run the Windows executable, opens up a simple window with six icons for data types, and six search settings. Clicking on each icon or option opens a modal window with various options. You make your selections, hit the Search bar at the bottom, and just wait for the scan to finish. Depending on your settings and the number of files selected alters the time the scan takes.

Licensing and Options:
Groundlabs Recon is priced as a subscription model and varies by the number of systems the software is to scan. The license is tied to that target's MAC address or hostname. Should you wish to scan a Users laptop and windows share use the Groundlabs online rather than offline registration. For multiple systems, Data Recon offers licenses for 3, 10, 25, 50, 100, 175, and 250 targets with the investment per target dropping progressively.

Armana recommends that you always plan-out how many targets you need to Scan to best maximise the benefit you obtain from Recon investment.
